MULBARTON REMEDIAL SCHOOL

We offer a variety of competitive sports that our learners excel in.

We are part of the Southern Suburbs Chess League, where our team holds their own against other local schools. We have a great team this year with many seniors who have been playing for the past 3 years. These players help teach the juniors the game so that our team continues to have experienced players in the years ahead.

This year we started in a new athletics league for small independent schools. Our athletes performed exceptionally well in the friendly athletics meetings we attended. We look forward to next year’s achievements at Inter-Schools Athletics.

Many of our learners are exceptional cross-country runners and we have many athletes who proceed to district level every year. The runners train throughout the year to compete in the Alberton League at Rietvlei. We look forward to another successful cross-country season in the Third Term.

Our soccer teams play in the JPSFA League each year. This is a very competitive league with professional referees. Our players are always challenged to play for the win! Both teams performed very well in all their matches last year. Our sights are set even higher for 2026.

Learners can participate in chess practice during breaks with matches taking place afterschool.

Learners can also choose to take part in the Alberton Poetry Eisteddfod, which entails learning a poem and reciting it.

During Art lessons learners prepare beautiful pieces of Art which get entered into the Alberton Art Eisteddfod.
